Arrival & Swahili Heritage
The tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Diani Beach and a transfer to the Kongo area. Upon arrival, you will meet your guide and view the historic 16th-century Kongo Mosque, where you will learn about its rich Swahili heritage.
Traditional Canoe Ride
Walk to the estuary and board a traditional hand-dug canoe. Your captain rows quietly without engines, allowing you to glide through serene mangroves. You can watch over 30 species of birds while learning local stories and history from your captain.
Sunset Over the Estuary
Enjoy breathtaking sunset views over the estuary as the sky turns golden and orange. This is an ideal moment for photography and tranquil reflection as the sun dips below the horizon.
Return Journey
Paddle back gently toward the river mouth and beach area. The experience concludes with a return transfer to your hotel in Diani, completing the 2-hour tour.
