DIVING IN KISITE BOOKED TOGETHER WITH WASINI DAY TRIP AS AN EXTRA

Diving in Kisite marine park is normally booked together with the Wasini day trip, especially for someone looking for 1-2 dives for an extra fee. It make sense to book it as an add on to the Wasini day tour.

What makes diving in Kisite marine park so spectacular is the variety of dive sites, fish and corals. That’s why both beginners and advanced divers will find something here they can enjoy. With almost year-round diving conditions, any time is a great time to put Shimoni on your diving map.

The gentle sloping wall of the reef at Kisite extends from 2 to 32 meters below the surface and almost every nook and cranny is filled with marine life living within the hard corals. Schools of vibrant fish, such as spadefish, blue-lined snapper, fusiliers, surgeon fish and many others are constantly darting about.

Dolphin encounters frequently happen as there are several pods of these curious aquatic mammals in the park. Choose from seven dive sites with minimal current ranging in depth from six feet to more than one hundred feet (2 – 32 meters).

Beginners divers prefer to remain at the shallowest sites which are Inner Kisite, Kisite Point, Kisite Garden and Kisite West. If you haven’t dived before we can gladly organize a fun dive for you. For the more experienced divers, the deep wall dive at Nyuli starts at 90 feet (28 meters) and goes down to almost 105 feet (32 meters).

Large schools of reef fish and pelagic are drawn to the area due to the two currents that bring in food, but the currents also mean that divers should be experienced and plan to dive at slack tide.

With a fully-equipped diving center on Wasini Island, you’ll find all the equipment and professional advice you’ll need. The choice of shallow and deep dives gives you the variety you want for many busy days of blowing bubbles. We can manage 1-2 dives before going for your lunch on wasini island.

Almost all the reefs in the area are dive-able throughout the year and afford excellent diving during the warm sunny days that are common even during the rainy season. The reasons for this fortunate phenomenon are that there are, unlike along most of the Kenya coastline, no fringing reefs to cross, and there is always a leeward (or land) side to the islands where the water should be calm and clear.
